Information for Presenters

As noted in the program, ICOTILE 2026 has two presentation formats and a social event:

  • Presentations

  • Poster Presentation

  • Social Event

Information for each is included directly below.  Note: All attendees should register for Spatial.io before the conference — this will be used for both poster presentations and our social events. More information on Spatial may be found below.

Presentations

All sessions in this category will take place via Zoom.  You will receive an email no later than April 6th with the specific date and time of your presentation.  As discussed in your acceptance email, your presentation should be no longer than 25-minutes (including Q&A).

You are welcome to use PowerPoint, Google Slides, etc. via screen sharing.

Posters

All poster presentations will take place in the virtual environment called Spatial.io (more information on Spatial at the bottom of this page).  The poster presentations will take place on Saturday, April 18th, UTC 15:00-15:50.

Preparing your poster

We suggesting using a tool such as Canva to create your poster, although there are also PowerPoint templates available to create conference posters. Your poster should include:

  • The title of your presentation

  • The names of the poster presenters

  • Your affiliation

  • The main details of your content.

Please remember that you should not use small text or overfill your poster.

Format for your poster

Please submit your poster in either .png or .jpg format and in a maximum size of 10MG.  Your poster should be one single image.

All posters must be submitted to the conference email address NO LATER THAN 23:59 UTC on April 15th. This will give the organizing committee time to upload your poster into Spatial so that it is ready for the conference.

What you'll do during the Poster Conference:

During a poster presentation it is normal that people are wandering in and out of your poster space.  You will be standing at your poster in your avatar form, and attendees will be coming by as avatars as well.  Just like in an in-person conference setting, your poster is there to get their attention and to provide information and/or interpretation, but as the presenter you should be ready to have a conversation with the attendees rather than a traditional presentation.  Poster presentations are a wonderful opportunity to engage with people in a different way. â€‹â€‹â€‹

Social Event

The social event will take place in Spatial.io at a location included in the conference program will be emailed to you.

How to use Spatial.io

Spatial may be used on your computer, phone, or even with a VR headset.  For information on getting started, just follow this link: https://support.spatial.io/hc/en-us/articles/360060057511-Welcome-to-Spatial-Getting-Started  Note:  You will not need to set up your own space in Spatial.  We will give you links to the spaces for the conference via the program guide we will be emailing you.

We very strongly suggest that you set up your Spatial account and avatar at least a few days before the conference so that you get the chance to make sure you know how it functions, how to set up your profilehow to get around, and how to communicate with oral chat.

Helvetica Light is an easy-to-read font, with tall and narrow letters, that works well on almost every site.
